Why Voting Matters

Municipal politics affects every aspect of your life; from the amount you pay in property taxes (whether directly or through rent), to the roads you drive down each day, to the transit routes many of us rely on — even safety issues like street lighting, traffic zones, and crosswalk maintenance is decided on by your municipal representatives.

So your voice does matter – these are issues that directly affect our daily lives. It’s important to ensure that your representative on council is one who will listen to, and carefully consider, your thoughts, concerns, and input on major issues.

You can verify your voter registration information, update your address, and register to vote online by visiting Voter Lookup:

All you have to do is click “I Agree” at the bottom of the page and follow the prompts.

Online Voting

Online voting is now open!!

Everything you need to vote online is on your Voter Information Notice.

The web address you need to type in is located in the upper right-hand side of the page, just beneath the fold. Once you are on that site, you’ll need to enter in your Voter ID Number. This is the code that is in a box just above the web address.

Once you enter in that information, you then select whether you want to receive your PIN and access to the voting site by text or email. You will need Chrome, Firefox, or Safari to access this site, so be sure the device you use has one of those browsers installed.

You will receive a text or email with a PIN and a link almost immediately after you enter your information. All you have to do then is select the individuals you wish to vote for and then hit submit.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you require assistance with online voting.

You have until 5:00pm on October 24 to register for online voting.
