Regeneration can be a touchy subject for many Doctor Who fans. Losing the current Doctor, especially one to whom you felt connected, can be devastating. At the same time, it’s hard not to be hopeful about the next person to fill the Doctor’s shoes. Casting rumours about the next Doctor have been floating around ever since Peter Capaldi announced that his time in the TARDIS would be coming to an end. For a while, Phoebe Waller-Bridge (soon to be seen in the Han Solo film) was a top contender. Unfortunately, her production company recently took to Twitter to quash those rumours (for the love of Antiope don’t read the comments).

Olivia Coleman
How You Know Her: D.S. Ellie Miller on Broadchurch, Godmother on Fleabag, Angela Burr on The Night Manager, the creepy mother in Doctor Who’s “The Eleventh Hour”, PC Doris Thatcher on Hot Fuzz

Coleman has also worked with incoming show-runner Chris Chibnall before on Broadchurch (a series that, much like Doctor Who, requires a literal tonne of Kleenex to make it through but is very much worth it).
